Amazing work you are a huge inspiration!

Hi Rolandem! Just wanted to let you know that Stonemachia is now available to wishlist on Steam!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2982610/Stonemachia/

I played the demo and I am a huge fan! I’m wondering if your team has plans for an early access release or another demo? My other question is how far the team is in production.

If those are questions that can not be answered, that is totally fine! I am thinking about donating money for the game, and I eagerly await the full release 😁😁

It's difficult to say for sure, but we assure you the game will be released by 2025! Thank you so much for your support, a Steam page will be released soon and yes, there will probably be more demos in the future!

Hi TheThirdBear! Just wanted to let you know that Stonemachia is now available to wishlist on Steam!

this game is tagged ludum dare 55 but doesn't appear to be a ludum dare 55 game (it doesn't link to an entry or seem to have a stub on the LD site). can you remove the tag so it doesn't get confused with the games in the jam?

I apologize for the inconvenience, I didn't realize it, I must have added it by mistake by clicking on the suggested ones! Thank you very much for pointing it out to me.

no problem, and thankyou haha

Like many others recently, I discovered Iron Pineapple's video. The art direction and gameplay immediately hooked me. I created an itch.io account just to play this. The demo is relatively short. I've played through the arena mode multiple times and completed the demo about four times. The combat is addictive! I adore the party system, and unlike a few others I've seen, I appreciate the healing options and find them relatively balanced. The variety of enemies is the highlight of the demo. The arena mode also adds even more. The environment is beautiful, including the uniquely designed enemies that are simply cool. The bosses are enjoyable and fairly challenging.

Of course, there are a couple of areas for improvement. The UI was my biggest issue. It didn’t look very clean, and if it were more professional-looking, the game would immediately be perceived by new players as a higher-tier soulslike. The only other complaint I have is that some enemy attacks are not well telegraphed, but that might be more of a problem with my skill than the game itself.

I am eagerly anticipating this game and hope for a full release soon. I've been watching some YouTube videos and seeing some of the bosses you have created, and I can't wait. I wish the team the best and hope that this game reaches the popularity of soulslikes like Lies of P and Another Crab’s Treasure.

Thank you so much for the support, I'm really glad you enjoyed the game! The UI is completely temporary!
Before the release, it will be completely reworked :)

I think this game is going to be fantastic! You've done a great job with the enemy design, lighting & environments, music tracks are a good vibe, and the gameplay/movement are solid. The large variety of enemies makes each encounter exciting and keeps the game fresh! This also applies to the NPCs you find and how they have such style. The animations for the stone children/creatures gives an unsettling but good vibe for the game, so looking forward to seeing more of that like in the IronPineapple's playthrough. The parry system also feels really good and tight. It reminds me of the game Thymesia with how the animations of the enemies give the right amount of tell so that you can hone your reflexes for parrying. The large scale and depth of the environments make it fun to look around and see something different that can leave you in awe.

Otherwise my only complaints are the healing you get for the parrying and the moveset of the bosses. It felt like the healing for the parry was too high. I never needed to use a healing potion, so this number can be tweaked to give a more challenging but fair experience. Then after a few run throughs, the bosses would usually get stuck in a corner during our fights. This would happen after pushing them back with consistent parrys. So if they had a jump away/dodge move when in this situation it would make the fights better than just having them swing their standard attacks while being bullied.

Looking forward to seeing how this develops and thank you for sharing this game with us all! Also is there a Discord for you to post more casual updates or reach out to your community?

Thank you so much for your feedback, which, like everyone else's, fills us with the desire to continue this project. Let me explain here, and I hope it's helpful for everyone. First of all, these feedbacks are extremely valuable and provide us with topics to discuss at team meetings. Secondly, balancing the difficulty is achievable correctly when we have at least all the levels in hand, which we haven't completed yet. The difficulty of the demo is tuned down to allow everyone, even at fairs, to try it out. In the full game, the difficulty will probably be higher.

As for the Discord channel, here it is! https://discord.gg/NCK352stfX

Hi, I´ve watched the video of Iron Pineapple recently, and I loved the game, so I decided to give it a try on my own. I´ve downloaded the game here, but as I can see, this is a completely different game to the one Iron Pineapple played in his video: starting from the introduction and on to the main setting, first level etc.
Is this intentional or are there differnt versions of the game? For in the one I´ve downloaded, there´s no shield at the beginning, the sword is found only after you speed dodge three groups of mobs, and all the elites are too powerful to defeat with a single sword, which makes the gameplay rather difficult.
Would appreciate any comment on this and thanks a lot for working on such a cool game! I really like the aesthetics :)

(+1)

I also was wondering about the difference. The page was updated a few days ago so it might have been changed then?

(+2)

Hello! Unfortunately, Iron Pineapple recorded the video before publishing it, when there was still the old demo for testers (fortunately, he liked it). Although the old demo represented the setting of Stonemachia very well, it was not suitable for showcasing the aspect of the chess pieces. Therefore, about a month ago, it was replaced by the current one, which is shorter and more concise but, in my opinion, better showcases certain aspects.

In the initial stages, the shield is essential and the sword is useful for dealing "cheap damage," so initially, it's not very powerful. Try the arena mode to better understand what I mean!

Everything you've seen in Iron Pineapple's demo will return much richer and more polished in the full game! The Steam page will be released soon, so keep an eye out for it!

Thank you for trying out the demo.

I really look forward to the steam release. This truly feels inspired and I love it.

It was such a great review from Iron Pineapple to a really beautiful game. I will definatly stick around for the journey and hope to experience the content shown in the review for myself.

Thank you very much for making this pearl.

Hi, thank you for getting back to me with a reply, I appreciate it.
It makes sense now :)
Hopefully, I'll manage to find the shield, coz the sword, as you've pointed it out, is good for cheap damage only haha
Looking forward to seeing your game on Steam as well, as it will definitely bring more attention to your product!

Thanks 🤗

When I open the game little red text comes up saying "video memory budget exhausted expect extremely poor performance" and the game is very laggy when I try to play. Is there a fix for this? This game looks incredible and I would really like to enjoy it.

Try to lower the resolution and set the shadow to low, unfortunately the game run un UE5 so It can be very heavy on performance!

This game just keeps getting better the longer you play. Keep it up Crossfall Games!!

Molto interessante.

(+2)

Guys, you need to bring this to steam. Please 🥺

we are working on that! Thanks for the patience and stay tuned❤️
